My parents had an amazing time. They haven't stopped talking about it since they came home, and have taken some wonderful looking pictures. The said the croft was lovely and cosy inside.
Thanks for taking the booking and making it as easy as it has been Gail, very informative and straight forward. I'll certainly keep you and the Croft in mind for the future if I'm planning on venturing to Skye, likewise so will my parents.
Sandy & Ken - Nov 2016
As described - a wonderful getaway home from home in an amazing location.
Having stayed on the West coast lots of times and visited several of the islands (including Skye) we knew what to expect. We love very rural locations and being on water so this met our wishes. It is not a venue for lots of things to do - but for peace, wildlife, views etc it is superb. The croft is very comfortable and has everything we needed. My only thought - and it is a very minor one - was that it would have been handy to have a freezer compartment in the fridge.

Wonderful croft in a breathtaking position with views to die for. Although small it is perfectly presented with all you could wish for, warm and cosy even in the coldest weather. Within easy reach of supermarket and local amenities. Great walking and sightseeing close by.

Thank you. I’ve submitted a brief but favourable review via Owners Direct. You certainly achieve your objective of the WOW factor as the first impression is great and the little details that are discovered as you settle in just reinforce the feeling. Some of these details that I remember are
1. Table made up ready for a meal with mini wines, greeting card and visitors book
2. Maps and books of the island and it’s people
3. Wood burner ready for lighting with replacement logs in the shed. I bought a box of firelighters only to discover you had some already in the shed !
4. Bird feeders filled and hung in the garden and with more peanuts and fat balls in the shed. As a lifelong member of the RSPB, I particularly appreciated this
Your choices in and around the croft make it a very welcoming and homely place to be, much, much more than just some holiday accommodation.
Mark - Oct 2016
Stunning, stunning, stunning
An impressive, perfect little croft - ideal location to use as a base for the whole island, that is if you can drag yourself away from watching the seals and local heron just outside your garden. We honestly cannot wait to return.
Tim & Sue - Sep 2016
Everything that you need for a relaxing time away from the hustle & bustle of every day life, a very well equipped cottage with all mod cons that you require to knock up a meal for 2! The wild life that you see each day from the windows is truly amazing as a family of seals use to swim past most days, the amount of different feathered friends were also amazing to see. The location is perfect for exploring the rest of the island as once you drive back up the little lane you are back onto the main road to Dunvegan ir going in the other direction Portree and shops etc.

Thank you so much for the use of your cottage. It was a delight and we were very comfortable. The weather today is glorious as we leave so we're sorry to go.
A Pritchard - Sep 2016
Couch and seating in lounge area lacking in proper support, not good for people who have back problems. Fortunately there were 2 garden chairs stored in the garage we could use and we brought these into the property for our use. Hairdryer smoked during use - discontinued using.

Note from Skye Croft - All feedback is always hugely appreciated and this is a fabulous insight for our future guests, the sofa is a scatter back style, for sinking into and relaxing on after a busy day exploring and may not be suitable for those with back problems. As for the hairdryer, it's in the bin and a new one in it's place. Thanks for bringing this to my attention Alan.
Yvonne & Jonny- Aug 2016
This is a real wow-factor! Wonderful cottage, just the right size for 2 people, very cosy, modern, clean and well-maintained. There are no words expressing our enchantment of the scenic view and access of the wild-life just outside the door! We spent many hours sitting outside enjoying it all and taking a lot of photo's. The owner, Gail, has been most informative and making us feel very welcome to stay in her lovely little croft. Thank you so much for the wine and the cards. This has been one of the best holidays we've ever had an hope to be back soon again.

Never been to Skye, but we will definitely return and we would not look at staying anywhere else. The croft is a lovely little haven, with everything we needed. The whole place is spotless, and there were some lovely welcoming touches. Enjoyed an evening in the Kota hut, and spent lots of time wathing the birds. From the patio we could see lots of wildlife, curlews, herons, cormorants etc. Seals visited most days and we walked out to the point to watch them most evenings. We were very fortunate to see the otter feeding along the shoreline one afternoon, what a privilege. We cannot wait to come back.

We're here :O)
Arrived yesterday afternoon. Everything is amazing, just so quiet and peaceful.
Love the BBQ hut and the resident herons.
Gonna explore the local area before we head off into the hills.
Amanda & Eddy - Jul/Aug 2016
Thank you - we had a lovely stay in your beautiful Croft! It was really comfortable and so amazing to have such a lovely view of the loch. We saw lots of birds and seals and had a very happy week. We hope to come back soon!
Pat & Will - Jul 2016
Just to say how much we enjoyed our week at Skye Croft. It was bliss and so peaceful, we are looking forward to returning.
Phil & Ann - Jun 2016
No matter how many times you stay here you will never become tired of the surroundings this dwelling is situated in. The Croft is always kept clean and tidy by the owner and has all the facilities required for a great stay. Ideally suited for up to two people, but transport is essential as it is off the beaten track. Highly recommended. We shall be returning.
Note from Skye Croft - Huge thanks to Phil & Ann for another great Trip Advisor review and for sharing these photo's with us. You can see more unique PixTill photography from the Isle of Skye and beyond on Phil's Flickr page.
Derek S - Jun 2016
The croft is a little gem at the end of a winding track. It was everything and more than we expected. The grill kota is a wonderful hut in which to sit and relax at the end of the day.
Great views across the loch towards Harris and over the mountains.
We had a truly relaxing holiday in this fantastic little croft.

Stunning peaceful and relaxing location. Beautiful property which was very well equipped and spotlessly clean.
Jane & Michael - May/Jun 2016
Wanted to let you know what a lovely week we've been having topped off with a beautiful day today that is less windy!
We're already trying to see where a return visit will fit in.
Thanks again for sharing this incredible place
Brian & Hilda - May 2016
We had a great time. Lots of good hikes and some magnificent birds, eg. Golden and White Tailed Eagles. Couldn't find the Dinosaur footprint at Staffin though, so will need to come back! Loch Snizort is engraved in my mind. Tearing ourselves away is hard, very hard.
Ian & Margaret - May 2016
One serious complaint I have never had on Skye before IT WAS TOO HOT! You certainly achieved the WOW when we arrived, what a fantastic wee croft in the perfect of settings. Everything we could have wished for and more, and thank you for arranging the wall to wall sunshine. Thank you to the housekeeper everything was spotlessly clean and the design was just perfect for a bolt hole for two. When do you start taking bookings for next year? We certainly will be visiting again. Many thanks for sharing your little part of heaven in Scotland. Many thanks from 2 very happy crofters
Wendy & John - May 2016
From start to finish nothing was too much trouble. Gail kept in touch with us throughout and gave us some good tips and hints which enhanced our stay on Skye. The cottage's loch/seaside location and its uninterrupted views out to sea are excellent. Inside everything is provided and Gail's attention to detail shines through. Spotless and newly decorated throughout, the presentation was top class. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage and will be booking again.

Thank you so much for sharing your amazing cottage with us. We met 40 years ago and have been coming to skye since then. We love Skye so much and over the years we have been amazed with the scenery . This was a Christmas present from our wonderful Daughter and Beautiful Grand son. Over 40 years we have seen some beautiful scenery but your cottage and the view have been more than we could have hoped for. Thank you so much for sharing it with us xx
Nicki & David - Apr 2016

Kerrie & Ian - Mar/Apr 2016
Had a really excellent time once again – loved every minute of it.
I managed to get to the northern tip of the island this time (Rubha Hunish) and got some great photos of seabirds, and the sea-stacks that are just to the east of the peninsula, (Kerrie had a day in the croft that day). Out the back of the croft we had lots of seals this time, and a couple of them came onto land just to the left of the croft at low tide.
The Croft was exactly as we remembered it, and it was all spot on.
Thanks for everything Gail – we’ll be in touch again soon to book next year’s visit…

Jacqueline & Ian - Jan 2016
We stayed at Skye Croft in January. It was cosy, warm, very welcoming and extremely clean. The personal touches of mini wines and cards from the croft were lovely, and the wildlife to be seen from the window fantastic - plenty of seal, birds and even an otter. Would highly recommend Skye croft and can't waait to go back.

Mr & Mrs L Vallance - Dec 2015
We had a fabulous time
M Marriott - Nov/Dec 2015
We had a very lovely time at your croft. It was great being able to look out of the window and see the loch so close with the various wild life although we only saw one seal off the point the whole time we were there. We did however hear about some dinosaur imprints in the rocks next to Duntulm castle and we think we saw those which was very exciting. The weather of course was very exciting too
Clare & Stephen - Nov 2015
Had a wonderful time at this beautiful cottage. The scottish weather was not the best but we were lovely and cosy in our little hideaway. Lots of wildlife to see at the bottom of the garden. We are already booked in for our next visit.

Roy & Carole - Oct/Nov 2015
We both safely returned home. I think I speak for Carole as well as me,
in saying that we really did not want to come home. We have had an amazing week on the island.
Jane & Rob - Oct 2015
We had a wonderful time on Skye and loved your cottage.
Phil & Julie - Sep/Oct 2015
We had a delightful stay at Skye Croft, and couldn't have wished for more. The accommodation itself was splendid and the situation by the loch-side was truly wonderful. Each day brought something fresh, with the ever-changing tides and wildlife coming and going with the ebb and flow of nature's way. It was a memorable holiday. Thank-you for all the love and care you have put in to make Skye Croft such a special place.
I'll send a couple of images separately, as the files are quite large. They're of other places we found and enjoyed on this beautiful island.

When I first saw your croft on the internet I fell in love with it and when I saw if for real it was magical and just exactly as I imagined from the photos and description on the website, it was like a dream come true!
The croft was welcoming and homely but with a contempary feel, it was lovely to come home to after a day out and about seeing lots of fantastic scenery. We did intend to go out on an evening to eat but decided that nothing could compare to your perfect restaurant with the perfect view!
We walked down the peninsular every day to watch the seals, heron and sea birds, I even managed to catch a glimpse of the otter in the water on one evening and the night sky was overwhelming. You have a beautiful croft in a fabulous setting, good for the body, heart and soul. We came back home recharged, although I really did not want to come home!
Thanks for the wine and lovely cards, i did send a couple to family and the rest I keep giving to people who I have wowed with details of our holiday.
Thanks for letting us share your little piece of heaven.
S Watts - Sep 2015
Hi Gail, what an amazing week and the weather, did all you said plus applecross pluckton coral beach was stunning.
Thank you for a very special birthday
Last day in Portree. Again thank you we will be back.
Jane & Michael - Aug 2015
We had a magical stay at Skye Croft. The croft is beautifully finished, the views are incredible with magnificent sunsets and the wildlife is like having your own personal nature reserve. We're very happy that we found Skye Croft. Thanks so much for sharing it Gail.
Bob & Sandy - Aug 2015
We found it to have tasteful decor and furnishings and it was immaculate. The wildlife was great and we were fortunate enough to have gannets all week spectacularly showing their diving skills. The location is beautiful with amazing sunsets which we were treated to on two evenings. We will post some photos on Pinterest later. There are no negatives to our stay in your lovely croft. All the locals we met were very friendly, in fact they have been the friendliest of people anywhere else where we have stayed. We would be interested to know all the crofts history. Thank you for the wine and the cards.

Helena & Brad - Aug 2015
Our stay was amazing. We sadly didn't get many clear nights due to the weather but the croft was cosy enough. We did get a few mornings and evenings where we could watch the seals which was really wonderful. It was funny to watch how the birds reacted to the seals. We are hoping to come back next February. We have fallen very much in love with the area. Thank you again for the wonderful croft xxx
Phil & Ann - Jul/Aug 2015
3rd visit to Skye croft, always spotlessly clean. Whether a singleton or couple you will not fail to love this nature wonderland, as long as you appreciate lots of wildlife and amazing peace. The Croft is great as a base for exploring Skye, or when you get the occasional rain shower, a super place to chill out and watch the seals playing.

Just had to send a message to you, we had a great time at your Skye Croft and the kota was fantastic, sitting in it on an evening cooking, looking out to beautiful views, it made our holiday as we love to BBQ. We will return in the near future. Many thanks also to your housekeeper who does a great job, the croft was spotless.
Kath & Pete - Jun/Jul 2015
Just back from our marvellous holiday at Skye Croft! What can we say - Skye is a beautiful place and the Croft was all we hoped for and more. When it comes to facilities you have thought of everything. Views from the Croft are stunning, with wildlife in abundance. We wouldnt hesitate to recommend the Croft to any of our friends who were looking for a similar holiday. Well done Gail, you have a cottage to be proud of.
David & Lynne - Jun 2015
Well what can we say that hasn't been already said? Thank-you so much for sharing your beautiful croft with us, we both thoroughly enjoyed our time in your lovely cosy croft, it had everything we could possibly want and more. We certainly got the WOW feeling when we opened the front door make no mistake
Your croft was very comfortable, cosy, warm and well thought out. Really loved the picture in the bedroom of my favourite animal the 'hairy cow', do you know where we could purchase one of these pictures please? Unfortunately we were unable to try out the lovely BBQ hut due to the weather which was rather nippy, however we were able to sit inside it for an hour watching the seals. Due to the nippy weather we did light the lovely log burner a couple of nights, which was so, so cosy snuggled up on the settee, we cleaned it all ready for the next guests too. We explored the island and the local area, and could have quite happily not gone anywhere else at all as all we needed was either in the croft or surrounding area, fantastic!!
Angela & Andrew - Jun 2015
We loved Skye Croft and thanks for helping to give us a memorable holiday .... the actual first word Angela said as she walked through the door was "wow". Quite apart from the excellent standard of the accommodation and its stunning setting (we made good use of your binoculars and made evening trips to visit the seals at the end of the point, dubbing them our "children of the deep") we've also never stayed anywhere where the owner has been so helpful in the build-up to the trip.
The weather stayed dry for us after a stormy journey up on the Saturday and we were able to enjoy good days out,
taking in some of Skye's iconic scenes ... the Old Man of Storr, the Quiraing, Kilt Rock, Dunvegan Castle, the coral beaches, Stein, Trumpan church and more.
Highlights have to be our sighting of a sea eagle grabbing a fish and devouring it on the shoreline near Portree as we watched from our boat, the MV Stardust, enjoying a close-up view of the seals on the boat trip from Dunvegan Castle, hearing our first ever corn crakes in a field near Trumpan Church and, of course, looking at Flora MacDonald's corset stays and the Fairy Flag in Dunvegan Castle!!
There's a lot to see and do on Skye and there are large stretches of the island we didn't explore but it is possible to spoil a visit by trying to see everything ... and seeing not much at all.
We'll never forget the sunsets from Skye Croft, watching the heron and the whimbrel and Angela fulfilled a long ambition in seeing an otter in the rocks near the shoreline.
Sandra & Dave - May 2015
As always we had a fantastic holiday – I never want to leave. The view from the croft window never ceases to amaze us.
Lorna & Graham - May 2015
We had a lovely time - Graham saw 6 golden eagles and 5 sea eagles so he was happy. At Portree on the brigadoon boat trip and down at the new hide overlooking the skye to glenelg ferry - I have put it all in the visitor book and added a few more leaflets. The croft was lovely . Thank you again for the cards and wine and we will book again in the future it's fab. Thanks again

Sharon - Apr/May 2015
What can I say the croft was amazing much more than we expected and defiantly has the wow factor so no worries there.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay even the snow, high winds and rain but we also had 3 lovely days and made the most of all of them.
The sea plane trip was amazing finally got to do it on Friday , it can be booked through Loch Lomand sea plane trips and you get the plane at Broadford aerodrome a definite suggestion for future guests. Make sure through that the GOLD ticket is booked as that is the only one that guarantees a full refund if you or they have to cancel all the other tickets you could end up loosing money.its not cheap but totally amazing.
The wildlife at the croft is brilliant saw so many birds and a sea eagle have put all sightings in your bird book for you, also the seals saw those everyday and kept me amused for hours also the cat from across the road loves a cuddle , and rabbits everywhere.
I could go on for hours about how lovely your croft is and have not stopped telling people.
Kindest regards and thank you for the lovely memories
Stuart & Ann - Apr 2015
So many lovely places to visit with incredible vistas making it difficult to pick out highlights, though perhaps the Cuillins from Elgol is high on the list. Weather has been excellent - generally blue skies, but with a cold wind. Keeps the midges away though!!
The croft has been a great place to stay - very comfortable and well equipped (whisky glasses being the only things missing!). Saw the Heron most days and Ann took some great video of both it and of the seals. Briefly glimpsed an otter in the field next to the croft.
We would thoroughly recommend your property to anyone wishing to spend some quality time on Skye With best regards Stuart and Ann PS Late Friday pm, we watched from the croft an otter leaping its way up the loch - absolutely fabulous
Jonny & Frances - Apr 2015
Where to start! First and foremost a huge thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful croft, from the moment we drove over the hill for the first time, to the last, it has been an absolute pleasure to stay there. Rest assured the wow factor was in full effect, we opened the door, looked out the window only to see seals, herons, oyster catchers just a few metres away! Fran and I have many fond memories and have both said we would love to return before too long. We have fallen totally in love with Skye!
Lynn - Mar 2015
On arrival at Skye Croft it was spotlessly clean and very welcoming. All furnishings are of excellent quality and both bed and sofa are very comfortable. The Croft is in a wonderful location and
has everything you need for a self catering holiday. The log burner makes it very cosy even if the weather is bad, and the heated floor in the bathroom was great. We saw seals swimming on a daily
basis and numerous sea birds. If you walk to the end of the peninsula (around 10 mins) you see even more seals. I counted around 30 the day before we left, they were all bobbing around in the sea
looking at me on the rocks, it was an amazing experience.
The croft is in a wonderful location for touring Skye. We toured all around the island, Skye is an amazing Island and hopefully we will return one day. If we do we will definately stay at Skye Croft.

Amit & Fiona - Mar 2015
We had a fantastic time at the croft. It certainly does have the wow factor when you open the door. We loved how cosy it was, not least whilst it was battered by some horrendous wind and rain! I particularly like the underfloor heating in the bathroom!
We definitely want to return to Skye later in the year when the wather is better and will look out your croft again. Judging by your guest book, we will need to book well in advance!
Mr & Mrs L - Feb/Mar 2015
We have arrived at the croft. And what can I say it is absolutely stunning and the location is breathtaking. We are so excited we wish we could stay here for ever.
Tam & Gillian - Feb 2015
Me and my partner stayed in this beautiful little croft back in February. The croft is spotlessly clean and the furnishings are of great quality, there is everything in the croft you could possibly need. The bathroom is also beautifully decorated and the under floor heating is heaven in the morning.
When we arrived Gail had left a lovely little present of wine and little cards of the croft "a very nice touch".
The views from the croft are breathtaking even when the weather is as its worst.
We toutred most of the island on our visit but the wather was really poor but we never let this spoil our stay.
After a day touring the island in the wind and rain it was great to return to this little cozy haven and throw some logs on the wood burner and pour a large malt whisky.
We will definitely be returning to this great little house, it's a little gen you have created here Gail

Emma C - Feb 2015
Having just stayed at the Skye Croft for 3 nights, the base for a great trip, allowed us to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the evenings after a long day of taking in the sights and sounds of
the Isle of Skye! Easily found using the sat nav, to look at the pictures is one thing but to see the Croft itself in person, makes you fall in love with it immediately and dream of one day having
your own Skye Croft (we can but dream!). A short drive from Portree, where you can stock up at the Co-Op, take in the village and harbour then drive north where part of the discovery of Skye
On the Sunday, the weather was against us but we battled on up north to take in the Old Man of Storr, the Kilt Rock waterfall, Flora MacDonald's gravesite (the woman behind the story of the Skye Boat song) and finished the day with the Fairy Glen, everything is well sign posted! On the Monday, we set out east to Dunvegan to take in the sights of Dunvegan Castle and a bite to eat at 'Skye's Oldest Bakery', great little place! Returning via the A863 and B885 which had some coastal views, then some inland driving which was great as the roads were quiet and all you can see is hills and green as far as the eye could see (with the odd sheep and Highland cow saying hello).
In the evenings, we made dinner with everything we needed there for us, lit up the log burning stove and stuck a DVD on! The bed was unbelievably comfortable, making it hard to get up in the mornings and the bathroom with, walk in shower and heated flooring was everything we needed to get ready for the day!
Gail really has built the perfect getaway and our stay was everything and then some, with the welcome and having handy books and maps to plan our days, we didn't need the sat nav! We stayed for 3 nights but to fully discover the Isle of Skye, I would recommend, if you can, get to the Skye Croft for 4/5 days to take it all in! Beautiful Croft, beautiful island! When the opportunity arises, we will be back, time and time again!

Janet & Stephen - Feb 2015
We hada fantastic holiday, thank you. The croft really does have the wow factor and everything was perfect. Stephen went out kayaking and saw the eagles and played with the seals. He went fishing but had to give up as the seals kept trying to catch his hook. He used his telescope to look for stars but missed the night with the northern lights. We didn't manage a BBQ as it was out of season for charcoal but had lots of lovely meals in front of the fire. We hope to come again in the future as I don't think we could ever find anything quite as perfect as your little croft. Thanks again
Dave & Seema - Feb 2015
Skye Croft is the perfect destination for a relaxing escape. Close enough to Portree to be easy to get to but remote enough to feel incredibly tranquil, especially as you watch the seals playing
in the sea in front of the croft.
Comfy bed, excellent shower, lovely wood burner and well equipped kitchen .... and most importantly amazing views from the french doors and decking.
The owner Gail was also very friendly and helpful.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Skye Croft.

Maggie - New Year 2014 / 2015
We had a really lovely time, even although the weather could've been better! It was wonderful to open the door on our arrival to be greeted by such a tasteful, warm, welcoming croft. The decor was lovely, the woodburning stove very romantic and the welcome wine, chocolates and pressie most thoughtful. It was so nice to sit in the glow of the fire with a glass of fizz and look forward to our winter break. Loved the xmas tree too! A special mention has to go to the bathroom - underfloor heating and a beautiful designer shower - quite the loveliest bathroom you could wish for! The weather didn't lend itself to much exploring outside, which was a great pity, but we did manage to keep up to date with 2 herons and caught occasional glimpses of a passing seal. If there was anything lacking at all it was somewhere to hang clothes but it wasn't all that significant in the overall scheme of things. You couldn't have been more welcoming Gail and more thoughtful and your croft more than does you credit. We would definitely consider coming back at some point - but would make it summer next time !
Jeff & Sandra (Columbus OH) - December 2014
We arrived at dusk just after Christmas to find a warm respite at the end of a long journey. This is a modern and tastefully decorated cottage with plenty of room for two. The home was spotless and the owner had taken the time to write us a handwritten greeting. Guide books and information about the area helped us get acquainted quickly with the area. The heated floor in the bathroom was heavenly! The view out onto the Loch was spectacular and the wood burning stove set the perfect stage to enjoy a bottle of wine. The address is 65 Aird Bernisdale if you want to set your SatNav. There is a sign on the A850 which points to Aird Bernisdale and it is about a mile down the road. Relatively easy to find and off street parking to make turning around easy. We will definitely return again because it is the perfect location and the owner has gone out of her way to make you feel at home.....

Following on from Carole’s review on trip advisor, I just wanted to drop you a note from myself. This was my first visit ever to Scotland. I have heard so much from so many who have spent time either working or on holiday, none though had visited the Isle of Skye.
Our time there was just magical. Your croft is in the best location and was so much more than I expected it to be. I agree with all that Carole put in her review. I could have quite happily have stayed there for so much longer.
The Loch with its seals and birds. The ever changing scenic views during various times of the day and then the stars. Our last night was a clear crisp evening. I have never seen such a wonderful sky full of stars and clusters as I did that night. My only regret was that my camera could not capture what my eyes were seeing.
As Carole has already mentioned we are planning to return in 2015. I’m sure we will not enjoy the kind weather which we had, next time round. But in truth I came prepared with half my wardrobe, and didn’t need to. Again, something I never expected.
I have attached some of my photos taken in and around the croft.
I am assuming that you may receive requests to have wifi installed? As someone who works and lives in London, where everyone has there head buried into there various devices on the train, in the office and at home. Please please please resist any requests, as the peace and tranquility of your croft doesn't need anymore technology than it already has. The Aribba cafe in Portree has free wifi if needed.

Firstly Gail was amazing right from the start. Regularly sending emails about the Croft and local attractions. When we arrived at the Croft it was dark so couldn't see anything. When we woke the following morning, OH MY GOODNESS!!! I knew it was beautiful from the photo's I had seen, but they really don't do it justice. The scenery from the back garden was breathtaking. For November the weather was unbelievable, sunny, blue skies nearly all week. The colours around us were amazing. We had an abundance of wildlife right on our doorstep, from herons, to a colony of seals, so close we could hear them snorting. The sunsets were like something from a romantic film, so beautiful with all the reds and oranges. The stars were like nothing I have ever seen before, a complete blanket covering the sky just twinkling away, so many shooting stars too. Now for the croft itself. What can I say that hasn't been said on so many reviews except WOW!!!! I am running out of adjectives to describe our stay. Gail has perfected a little home from home, actually it's better than my home and my partner had to drag me kicking and screaming to leave. It was so cozy and warm, the log burner was gorgeous. The underfloor heating in the bathroom was most welcoming when a late night trip to the loo occurred. The shower is massive with piping hot water. Extremely comfortable bed, which was hard to get out of due to the comfort. The decor of the croft is spot on, everything has been thought of, the little finishing touches make it the ideal place to come back to after a day of exploring. I could go on and on about Gails beautiful piece of heaven. I have stayed in Scotland many times before, but I have never stayed somewhere that makes me want to pack up and move to the Isle of Skye immediately. I just want to say thank you for sharing Skye Croft with us all. We will definitely be returning ASAP :)

I know that Ian wrote to you to say how much we enjoyed staying at your croft. I thought I would just add my appreciation.
You have converted it so beautifully. It’s soooo stylish and comfortable. The underfloor heating in the bathroom is pure luxury.
We were incredibly lucky with the weather – unbroken sunshine - but even if it had rained we would have been very snug and happy there.
The wildlife was a never ending fascinating show. We counted over 30 seals on the rocks directly in front of the croft one day and another day the heronry arrived with 27 additional herons joining our resident one. They are so funny the way they all stand on one leg facing the same direction. We saw masses of other birds and a golden eagle that tried to land on one of the little spruce in the garden. There was a tremendous racket of wing flapping before it flew off because of course it was far too big to get a purchase on a branch.
I am attaching a couple of photos that you might like. We took masses of course.

Thank you for sharing your croft. What a haven!
Our weather was mixed, but that's Skye!
We managed to do many of the things on our list, but were often reluctant to leave all the activity on the loch adjacent to the croft, which changed as much as the tides.
Your croft is perfect, unique in character. So cosy! It's amazing how you can feel so remote and yet not be far from shops and other necessities of life.
Hopefully, we can return again in the future.

We had a wonderful stay on Skye and absolutely loved the Croft. It was just as we expected from your website and the video. You have equipped it perfectly. I was especially pleased to find a washing machine there - as I had expected to do a bit of hand washing of mud spattered walking trousers. In fact I used it early on in the week after unexpectedly sliding down part of a hillside!
Thank you for making the Croft such a lovely place for a couple to stay. We will certainly recommend it to family and friends.
Paula & Jackie - August 2014

You have a fantastic cottage in an amazing location and despite the rain we had a brilliant week, thank you.

Just a short note to let you know that we had a really great time in Skye and that we were really pleased with Sky Croft. One thing guaranteed to start the holiday off on the right note is that "Wow" factor you mentioned when you step into the accommodation for the first time. You have no worries on that front ... we were mightily impressed with the facilities, the imaginative design and all of the little creative touches that are there to be found. The location too is fantastic ... quite and private but not too isolated or difficult to get to ... a perfect place for spotting the wildlife in and around the Loch and a great place for watching the sun go down over that beautiful, uninterrupted view of Loch Snizort, The Minch and, on a clear day, the distant Outer Hebrides. So a truly great stay made even more memorable by the Weather Gods being on our side for once. A week is no time at all to see what the island has to offer so a return visit at some point in the future is a strong possibility.
Alan & Maureen - Jun/Jul 2014
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday on Skye. The pleasure started as we drove down the lane and saw the croft in its setting on the edge of the loch - WOW!
We were greeted by a couple of curious seals looking at us from right behind the croft. The setting and wildlife is so stunning we could have spent the week just sat at the back of the croft with the telescope. The highlight being the sea eagle which flew up and down the loch on Wednesday afternoon. The facilities in the croft met our every need in style and the little touches like the wine and post cards were much appreciated. If we get the chance in the future we will definitely be back.

If bird watching, seal spotting or just lazing around are your idea of a good holiday, look no further. The Croft is alongside Loch Treaslane, literally 50 yards away, with a heronry on the opposite bank of the loch. At the end of the promontory on which the Croft stands is a small island, used by seals for sunbathing in good weather or a rest from fishing if not. A regular visit from a buzzard (or was it a hen harrier?) on a daily basis was another bonus. The Croft provides an excellent base from which to explore the rest of Skye, if you can bear to be away for any length of time. The property was superbly fitted out with every convenience for a really comfortable break; compact but ideal for two people. Many thanks Gail!

Laura & Jason - May 2014
My husband and I have just returned from our first week in the Isle of Skye, we had a fantastic time and what was supposed to be a relaxing break turned into a non-stop adventure as there was so much that we wanted to see and do! The croft was the perfect base for us, it was very clean, comfortable and Gail had thought of every last thing! The little touches in the croft, like the Telescope, binoculars and fishing rod were fantastic! We loved the Kota BBQ and ate in there 3 times over the week! The setting of the Croft and the access to the loch just through the back garden was ideal, as was the closeness to Portree, Uig and Dunvegan.

The croft is fantastic and the location will take some beating. It’s a really cosy place and very well equipped…………I don’t think there was anything we needed that wasn’t there. We saw the seals every day and the otters on the last couple of days and birds galore! We certainly saw a lot of the island as the weather was very kind. We’ll certainly be back at some point soon. Thanks for letting us stay! It was a really relaxing and enjoyable week.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Croft. Everything was great and we had a wonderful week celebrating our honeymoon. The weather was not always the best but we did have good, sunny days for walks and wildlife spotting. And when the weather was not that good we did the spotting from the croft. We would love to come back in the summer to explore even more of Skye.
