Diane & Heath - Christmas 2013
Just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed your croft at Christmas. You managed to fit so much into a lovely small place. It was a beautiful safe and warm haven in the stormy weather. We relaxed straight away and got into the Christmas spirit. It was bliss just the two of us, Christmas day was fab. We had the full Christmas experience with no hassle. Hope to come up again sometime in warmer weather, can't wait to use the hut! The wildlife appeared once the storms gave us a break, we saw the otters, the seals and the heron. Lovely, thanks again.
Emma & Stuart - Nov 2013
I had the pleasure of staying here for 4 wonderful nights towards the end of November alongisde my husband. On arrival we were made to feel very welcome by a very inviting, cozy
feeling croft. As we had a reasonably long journey we decided to get to work on building a fire and having our first meal in the BBQ kota hut, an experience like no other. It was beautifully cozy and
we loved the twinkling candles to give it an amazing atmosphere.
Gail the owner appears to have went out of her way to ensure that you have everything you need and more at her beautiful croft. It is well equipped and set in glorious and peaceful surroudnings, my only wish was that I could have stayed longer!

Thank you for letting us stay and experience Skye Croft. We had an amazing time and stay. You have a lovely wee croft in an amazing location.
Martin & Anne - Oct 2013
Wow! What a fantastic weekend!! We had perfect weather for the whole time: blue skies, sun and no wind.
When we arrived at the croft, and opened the door onto the deck, we were met by two little faces peering at us from the water. The seals were at the bottom of the garden for most of the time we were at the croft. Up to seven at one point!
We did a fairly major tour of the island over the three days, but I think the highlight was walking down to Claigan beach and sitting under the clear blue sky watching the seals and dolphins at the point. The entire time we were there we didn't see another soul.
Alas, we didn't see the aurora, but it just didn't matter as everything else was so perfect. We had a fantastic time at the croft and can't wait to get back there in May.
Thanks for an outstanding weekend.
Helen & Colin - Oct 2013
Having just returned from your cosy cottage, we would like to express our thanks for a wonderful few days spent at Skye Croft. The weather unfortunately was not on our side for most of the time, but we still managed to see and do all that we wanted.
Thanks for making it a truly relaxing week, you really have made it into a home from home.
Mandy - Sep 2013
What a stunning place Skye Croft is, location, location, location is the key here. We stayed for two weeks and it still was not enough, love it, very very clean all you need for a great stay, the little touches make a word of difference thanks gail. We will be back next year stayed on Skye a few times but would not stay anywhere else now you have spoilt us!

Christiane (French Riviera) - Aug 2013
I have just come back to the stifling heat and continuous noise and pollution of the French Riviera which is my home place, and I must confess that the three wonderfully peaceful weeks
which I spent at Skye Croft from 2 August to 24 August have been a real balm to my heart and soul!
Such a cosy place in such a gorgeous location, with all the care taken by Gail to welcome me as a friend have touched me so much that I will keep all the memories of my stay among my most cherished ones.
I already miss my sheep, my seals, my blackbirds, herons and rabbits, the quiet winding lane leading up to the little cottage standing proudly among the blooming heather at the very end of the peninsula, the lovely neighbours so helpful...
A very great thank you Gail for the happiness you brought me and for letting me think that Man hasn't yet destroyed what Mother Nature has given us

Lovely conversion of the old croft house, beautifully decorated and very well equipped. You promised lovely sunsets and we got a fantastic one :)
Spence & Mo - July 2013
What a fab week we had in Skye, your croft was amazing and we certainly got the WOW when we walked in through the door. The views will stay with us forever, cant wait to come back. We have attached a couple of pictures out of many hundreds that were taken.
Sonja & Tim - June 2013
We had an absolutely wonderful time at Skye Croft, it was the perfect escape from the rat race!! We enjoyed exploring the island and the amazing sunsets just took our breath away. We will definitely be back!
Dil & Stuart - June 2013
We had a superb week the weather was so kind to us and the sunsets were amazing.
Stuart and I share wonderful memories and, if we ever visited Skye again, we would not hestitate to rent the croft and would definately recommend it to friends and family.

Phil & Nikki - May 2013
The croft is beautiful, and we've had a great time exploring the island. We have loads of memories and even more ideas for the future. Thanks loads.
Ann & Dave - May 2013
We thought the croft was the perfect bolt hole! And you can't improve on perfection! We will definitely be looking at dates to come back. You made the whole experience very easy from enquiring to now. Thanks again.
Robin & Maureen - May 2013
We had a wonderfully relaxing week at the Croft and it was a very welcome oasis to come back to each day particularly as the weather, unfortunately, was not very warm whilst we were
there. We felt it was beautifully decorated and the set table was a lovely touch upon arrival. The bed was also extremely comfortable and, needless to say, we slept very well
indeed whilst we were there. This was our first visit to Skye and we were not disappointed. Despite the weather we managed to see most of the island during the week and your
recommendation of Jans Car Hire in Portree was a good one as the car they supplied was perfect for a few days. Skye really is a beatiful place and we can't wait to return, hopefully when
the weather is a little kinder.

We arrived back home, tired but so satisfied...We had a wonderfull holiday , looking back it passed too fast but nobody can take it away anymore.
We walked a lot, spend the cosy evenings in the beatyfull cottage which was our home for a week...
Ruby & Linda - April 2013 (Ohio & Arazona)
My sister and I spent a week at SkyeCroft recently and had the most amazing experience. The croft is located on a peninsula that offers such privacy, tranquility and peace. It is beautifully decorated, exceptionally clean, and offers everything you need for your stay. There are even binoculars to catch sight of the wide variety of birds. There is a nice variety of books to read ranging from fiction to travel books covering the local areas as well as a variety of DVD's for viewing pleasure. I loved how Gail had posted helpful hints around on how to operate the equipment . Overall, life was so good for that week we were there. Hopefully, we will get a chance to go back SOON! Thanks, Gail, for sharing this piece of paradise with us. So many memories to hang on to until we can return.

Sandra & Dave - April 2013
Wow Gail, what a fantastic holiday – we absolutely loved Skye Croft, a perfect place to stay for our perfect holiday!
I’m a bit of a ‘home bird’ but I settled immediately I walked in the door and really did not want to leave. As you know this was our first visit to Skye and we instantly fell in love with it. We had a couple of days of rain – but it didn’t seem to matter.
There is still so much we need to do so we have a great excuse to visit again soon. Thank you so much.
Susan & Colin - April 2013
Thanks again for everything.
We really had a lovely time in the croft and thank you for sharing it with us.
We couldn't believe our luck with the weather! We saw a family of 3 Otters Dog, Bitch and a pup on three separate day's then the Dog Otter on one day just towards the end of the point to the right of the Croft see photo's attached. Also had Black Guillemot, Great Northern Diver and Red Breasted Mergansers in front of the Croft.
Liza - March 2013
Thank you so much for letting us have a week in your paradise.
What can I say? It was just wonderful; a delightful cottage, glorious setting and we were quite ludicrously lucky with the weather. Only problem with the cottage was resisting the temptation to mutate into a cat and spend the entire day curled up asleep on the fantastic bathroom floor...!

Back from a week at Skye_Croft - fabulous place, both the Isle of Skye & The Croft, superb, we loved it.
We really did have a fabulous time at your Croft, we're still longing to be back there now. It was my first visit to Scotland but I was blown away by the beautiful scenery of Skye. We were there at a quiet time - out of the tourist season, so it was lovely and peaceful but many of the galleries and studios that we'd like to visit were still closed, so we will definitely be back - when you can fit us in.
We loved the decor, cosiness and warmth of the house and waking up to those amazing views, (I took a panoramic photo of the garden and that's the one I keep looking at), it was so peaceful and quiet and we were lucky enough to see a sea eagle!
So thanks again to you for making the booking and holiday experience such a great one! The attention to detail and little surprises (like the postcards, cards and wine) made it a special holiday and we would love to live there, but will make do with a return for a holiday!
Dean & Donna - Feb 2013
WOW! Gail you have a sunning little bit of paradise. We have had an amazing time, even saw a family of seals. Thank you so much, we will definitely be coming back.
Jo & Al - Feb 2013
A lovely setting, peaceful and beautiful. Thanks
Kate & James - Feb 2013
We had a wonderful time - saw a seal! Met the Old Man of Storr!
Audrey - Feb 2013
We had a lovely few days away !!...(not long enough). The croft was everything we were looking for, so well laid out clean, comfortable, and very cozy. It is such a wonderful place to escape to for a bit of peace and relaxation, I spent quite a bit of time sitting at the table and looking out the window, at a little bit of heaven!
Warren & Katie - Jan/Feb 2013
Warning before you book Skye Croft you must be aware of the following!
A. You will fall in love with the place and never want to leave!
B. You will want to come back again and again.
Thank you so much Gail for creating the most amazing place you could ever want to visit. One word.....heaven

I love Skye and you made our trip more magical then I can say. The croft was safe, secure and warm and really well appointed. We loved all the attention to detail and to get every last little thing just perfect.
I can't thank you enough for sharing your croft with us. Also, I wanted to let you know that you are very engaging and pleasant on social media, when we booked, I felt like I was booking from an old friend.

Your cottage for us takes short breaks to another level beyond 5 star.
Just keep it the way it is. On our arrival Gail was still smiling after an hour due to the "wow" factor you mention. There is no way we could give a negative comment on anything at the croft, everything ticked all the boxes for us.

Rosie & Anthony – December 2012
Hi Gail, thank you ever so much – we have absolutely loved our stay on Skye and your little croft is absolutely beautiful. Thank you again and we hope to come back soon!
Piers & Letitia (Fuerteventura) - November 2012
We had a lovely time in the croft and it was everything we hoped it would be. It already seems like ages
since we've been home here in the sun again and we miss Skye's dramatic scenery and sheer beauty. It was great fun to be out and about exploring during the day knowing we were coming home to a
lovely, warm, cosy place for the night. It really was great and you're very lucky to have such a beautiful retreat!
Cath & Mark - November 2012
We had a fabulous time - the croft is really lovely. I think you've created a wonderful 'home' there and it was just how we'd do it. It was warm and taosty all the time and very comfortable. I loved tha fact you had thought about putting in a slow cooked. This proved ideal for us on a couple of occasions p they really are great in winter when you're out all day. It's so nice to walk in and know that your meal is ready! We really did think 'wow' too when we walked in. It was warm, the table was set and the place just looked so welcoming. It was spotlessly clean too. It was all lovely - big luscious towels, good quality shower, comfy sofa that two of us could relax on and a great tele. We loved having the wood burner too as that's a novelty to us - we found it easy to use.
Thanks again for beins such a pleasure to deal with and for taking so much care in creating a 'home from home' holiday let. It's the nicest holiday let we've ever had actually...
Allison & Neil - October 2012
We had such a great stay, one of our best holidays ever. I had only been to Skye once before - a short stay which didn't give me enough of a feel for the place, so was really keen to come back and experience it properly. We were incredibly lucky with the weather, all of our walks were pretty much clear sunny days, so gave us a really good opportunity to see the wonderful views from the cliffs & be out pretty much out every day . The croft was such a fantastic home for us, it was just delightful from our first step into it so thank you, everything was there that we needed & I just now really miss it & having a heated bathroom floor! We'd really love to come back, only touched upon a fraction of the walks to do, and both agreed there would be nowhere else we would rather stay than your croft, so hopefully you'll here from us again in the near future.
Michelle & Mike - October 2012
Couldn't have wished for a more perfect and romantic location to celebrate my husband's birthday. The croft had everything we could wish for and the views were breathtaking. Looking forward to coming back again.

Jeff & Patie (USA) - September / October 2012
We arrived in a driving rain storm at about 12:45am, but Patie took one look around and said, it is beautiful. I was stunned by the beauty of the area and went out on your deck often just to hear the quiet. It's hard to find quiet like that.
It rained most days, but like most people there, we didn't let a few rain drops stop us. Your book on hikes was great and we did the Storr, Coral Beach and one on Waternish. We only left the island once! Everything was fantastic.
Sharon & Nick – September 2012
We had a fabulous time and had such good weather. The croft is amazing and we had long days out exploring Skye. We cooked in most nights and the kitchen had everything we could possible need equipment wise - really a truly warm and cosy home from home (especially the underfloor heating in the bathroom).
We were fortunate to see 15 Heron, at least 5 seals - 3 of them on a daily basis numerous sea birds and the elusive otter on one occassion!! We spent lots of time watching the wildlife from the patio door.
Best wishes until the next time.
Dave & June - September 2012
Just wanted you to know we had a wonderful stay at your croft. Having stayed in many self-catering cottages, we have never seen anything quite like it, it was fantastic, you must be very proud. We couldn’t fault a thing. The location was lovely and we would love to come back.
Michael & Judith - September 2012
Just wanted to say thank you for everything, you have made our whole holiday a pleasure from start to finish. Your croft is really beautiful and we will be coming back.
Alistair & Erna (Belgium) September 2012
Thank you for making our stay at the croft so comfortable, there were actualy 2 days when the weather was bad we stayed in our pyjamas the whole day, we felt like a couple of teenagers bunking of school!!!!!!!!.
You will certainly hear from us in plenty of time before we book once again thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise.
M Arnott - August 2012
Thanks ever so much for everything you've done. We had a fabulous few days on Skye. The cottage is absolutely fantastic - it really blew us away. It was a little bit rainy but that just provided a nice excuse to curl up by the fire with a nice bottle of wine :-) Hope to see you again soon.
Bb & Emily - August 2012
Gorgeous croft and gorgeous garden. We could barely sit down to eat without spotting something amazing out the window..seals, rainbows and sunsets, our food got cold a lot! Skye is amazing and thank you for a lovely base to explore it from.
Emma & Luke - August 2012
We would like to thank you for a wonderful holiday in your croft, we had a great time! The weather wasn't too bad either. Managed to see the seals on Friday afternoon swimming around the Loch.
Lynn & Chris - August 2012
We loved our stay at the croft. It was the perfect base for us to explore the island. You get the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere (which is fantastic when you're used to being in the city!) but still you're only 10 minutes from Portree. The croft had everything we could need for our stay, and so comfy after busy days exploring. We were really lucky with the weather, only raining on the day we left, and saw some amazing sunsets from the back garden, and even went up to the point and saw some seals having fun in the water. The croft couldn't have been more perfect. We'll miss the wee place.
Phil & Ann - August 2012
Hi Gail, had a great time at the croft and hope to book again if you will have us.

Penny & Michael - July 2012
Your croft is so lovely to stay in and it certainly provides the WOW factor - all expectations that are set when reading your website, and the descriptions on it of both the croft and the location, are all met and exceeded. We were really taken aback by the whole experience - croft, location and Skye itself. We envied you owning this wonderful bolt hole! It was truly fantastic, we loved it!
Paul & Sal - July 2012
Skye croft is a wonderful place to escape the world, relax and enjoy the beauty of our natural world. The croft is perfectly located on the loch side and is a true home from home without any of the stress. We absolutely loved it and can't wait to come back, which we definitely will.
Vanessa & Alan - June / July 2012
Thank you, we have had a wonderful time. The croft was beautiful and so was the setting - even the locals told us it was a beautiful place on the airde. We had a couple of days of rain but the rest of the time has been fine. I think we may have slowly fallen in love with Skye! Hope to be back again some other time.
Aukje & Jos (Netherlands) - June 2012
We had a very good time in your cottage and indeed there was a big WOW when we entered, what a nice welcome. We used your maps and books frequently, the book of Collin had wunderfull walking idea's.
Deb & Ad - June 2012
The croft can be summed up in one word – perfect – thank you so much for letting out the croft and letting us stay there. Skye is beautiful and our week was made even better by fantastic weather – sun each day and no rain until our last night – we really expected it to be much worse than it was and even walked in shorts and fleeces the last three days. We managed to see a large proportion of the island by doing at least one or two walks each day, walking between 4 and 9 miles each day. We saw many fantastic birds including a sea eagle which we managed to find ourselves on the heathland on Waternish Point. Our other travels included Neist point, the most Northerly point (don’t have the name to hand!), Glen walking in the Cuillin, Fairy Pools walk (details found in the croft) and Coral Beaches walk. Our first few days were very windy at the croft (and thought that may always be the case) and we wondered if the picnic table was ever used! Later in the week we were able to have two breakfasts and an evening salad sat at the table! We came back feeling thoroughly refreshed and satisfied having had exactly the type of holiday we love the most!
Helen & Sam - June 2012
We have had a FANTASTIC time!! We were so lucky with the weather, managed to get out for lots of lovely walks, thanks you so so much for letting us stay in your beautiful croft, we didn't want to leave!

Anne & David - May 2012
David and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the croft, it was absolutely gorgeous and you must be very proud of what you have achieved. We were very lucky with the weather and although it was a bit chilly, we only had a few hours of rain over the whole week. We were determind to make the most of the decking and the sunsets and apart from only one evening, put our padded jackets on and sat outside with a bottle of wine and a few beers. Our friends would have thought we were completely mad!! Once again, thank you for letting us share your dream, it was wonderful, we couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to spend our holiday.
Brian & Hilda - May 2012
Hilda and I had a great holiday and we walked every day visiting Rubha Hunish, Waterstein Head, Vaternish, MacLeods Maidens and many more. In the evening we read and gazed out at the sea. The sea lochs are transformed as the day turns on its axis. I took many many pictures of the changing colours on the water, the changing light something to behold. The cottage suited us perfectly. It is a very warm house and despite the cold outside only lit the log fire once. We would like to return. There is a lot for us to do yet.

Liam & Mary - May 2012
The croft was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The facilities were top notch and cleanliness was first class. Many holiday home owners don't understand how much cleanliness means to renters, you obviously do.
The weather was beautiful, how lucky we were. We spotted seals swimming up the loch and lots of birds, including sea eagles.
The croft is in a beautiful spot and we would certainly like to revisit in the future and will recommend Skye Croft to all our friends.
Peter & Diane - April 2012
We had a great week and the weather was very kind to us. Everything about the croft was excellent! The views were spectacular especially watching the seals whilst having breakfast, and the Croft itself so comfortable you seem to have thought about everything and definitely do give the WOW factor.

J Morrison - April 2012
We had such a lovely week. The cottage is just amazing, I couldn't have asked for anything more, it's just beautiful and everything we could have asked for was there. Thank you so much for a wonderful week, I wouldn't make any changes at all, it was perfect.
Fred & Meg - April 2012
Just wanted to say thanks for a fantastic week in your cottage. We had a lovely time and the cottage was everything we could have hoped for. Even the weather was good to us with brilliant sunshine in between the April showers! Thanks again.
Stuart & Cheryl - Mar/Apr 2012
We both had a wonderful time. As for the weather I think we were quite lucky the only snow was on the far mountains which looked great. The croft has a very cosy feel to it, especially when the wood burner is going, it's just right for two people and it's obvious you have put the effort in to make it that way. I have stayed at a number of locations on the Island over a number of years and your standard of decor and location is very good.
I would certainly recommend the croft to others and would return at a future date.
Chris & Karen - March 2012
Skye Croft is the most gorgeous setting for a romantic getaway, located just 50yards from the shore of Loch Treaslane - you have your own gate to wander through to the waters edge. This self catering cottage is presented with everything you need for the weekend or longer, we would quite happily of stayed there forever it was perfect. Inside is furnished to a very high standard, from the underfloor heating in the bathroom, luxury toiletries, picnic baskets for your romantic lunch out, log fire, and the most beautiful softly furnished bed. Waking up in the morning with views over the loch is stunning, seeing Herons and seals is wonderful. If you're a keen fisherman there is a rod provided with all the accessories too, there is a telescope and binoculars too for looking out onto the loch and wildlife. The Croft is perfect and we will definitely be going back!

Paul & Carole - March 2012
We had a fantastic week at the croft and for us the WOW factor was achieved with the croft being both immaculate & stylish, touches like the restaurant calibre table setting on arrival certainly raised the standard! The location, what a spot! We found it perfect both for exploring Skye and simply for enjoying time at the croft.
The weather was also very kind for our journey home with stunning scenery around every turn! Many thanks for the use of the croft, we very much hope to return.
Damien & Gillian - March 2012
Amazing location and stunning decor. Weather was great and on the last morning woke up and opened the curtains to see 2 seals on the rocks. Perfect finish to a great weekend. Thank you so much, we will definitely be back.
Olly & Natasha - January 2012
It really was perfect up there, your place is amazing! Once we got there Friday we wandered around outside and cooked at the croft that night. Saturday we drove over to the coral beaches north of Dunvegan with the picnic hamper. We were the only people on the beach, the sun was shining and so it felt like the perfect time to pop the question... and she said yes!
After quite a few phone calls back home to friends and family we went on another walk by Dunvegan Castle, and ate at the Cuillin Hills Hotel in Portree that evening which was great too. Plus Ridley Scott and some of the cast from his new film were staying there as they were filming nearby so we managed a bit of celeb spotting too! Sunday was another great day so we drove down to the Cuillin range and did a lovely walk in and around thre. Again, it was just us out which was lovely. Sunday night we cooked in again and set off back early Monday morning. Thank you so much for helping with the picnic basket and everything, and making the weekend very special. I can't wait to get up there again, whenever that may be.
Note from Skye Croft: Congratulations to Olly & Natasha on their Engagement, I wish them a lifetime of happy adventures together xx
Tee & Thomas - January 2012
Skye Croft was an amazing little cottage we booked as a part of our getaway to Isle of Skye. It is located in a quaint place and is equipped with all a little home should. It was our first holiday together and we had a lot of fun at the croft. It is equipped with the fire burner at the croft which kept us quite warm. Gail had also put up a nice little Christmas tree which my boyfriend absolutely loved. We stayed there for two days and the best part was to cook there and be at home and relax. It is truly a home away from home. We are planning to visit it again in summer and hoping to make it our little getaway place.
Jimi and Karen – New Year 2012
“We were very happy with the place. It really has the best of both worlds: it's an off-the-beaten-track hut on the beach near the end of a small peninsula, with a wood burner and excellent views of lochs, birds, stars, etc... the perfect hideaway; OR if you want, it's a very comfortable, centrally located studio with all-mod-cons, 10 minutes from town and perfectly positioned for exploring the island. Perfect!”

We just loved our stay at Skye Croft. The croft and its location are a unique mix of the cosy and the spectacular, ideal for a break which really allows you to get away from things! This wee crofters cottage is set comfortably though discretely in a small crofting community with iconic Scottish highland views from its front door of North Uist to the left and the Cuillins to the right with tides carrying the sea to and fro within yards of the back door. How close can you get to nature and have all the essential comforts of a home where everything has been thought of! We will certainly be returning!

5***** We had a great time, hope to get back at some point.
S Ketley - September 2011
I couldn't have imagined a better place to stay on Skye! The croft is in a stunning lochside location where it was lovely to just relax and take in the amazing views, sunsets and wildlife (including watching seals playing in the loch and sunbathing on the rocks!). It also proved to be an excellent base from which to visit Skye's main attractions - the mountains, lochs, beaches, castles, galleries, wildlife and also close to Portree and a host of superb restaurants serving the island's famed fresh seafood. The croft itself has been renovated to a very high standard and well equipped with all mod cons, but it's also full of charm, very comfortable and really feels like a home from home. i thoroughly enjoyed my holiday on Skye and stay at the croft - I'm sure to be back again!
Bee & Chris - August 2011
5***** Stunning views and a getaway paradise house! Chris and I had the privilege to stay at Skye croft and soak in a beautiful August sunset. The croft is modern, fully equipped with lovely outdoors - perfect for a candle lit dinner. What makes it so special is how Gail has really poured a life's passion in making this croft a home for all. Thoroughly recommended!
